Not entirely surprised with the results, there were definitely 5 quality shows. Great season guys!

i thought for sure the win was going to round rock but i'm okay with vandegrift winning..

I've picked out which drum corps shows will be competing in season 52. I already have created the match ups, but you'll have to wait each week to know who will be competing against whom ;)

This season each match up will have three competing corps. For the most part, it will be a battle of the 3rd place shows. However, two corps have never placed 3rd at finals, and two corps haven't placed 3rd since the 70's and 80's. Nonetheless, I selected the corps as carefully and thoughtfully as possible. There are 4 weeks of match ups, not including the final round. Therefore, four corps will automatically advance. Three of the highest scoring eliminated corps will compete at finals, too. That will give us a top 7 in the final round.

Judging:

I'd like for there to be two judges per caption. Depending on how many people participate, please select up to two captions, one music and one visual. If there is only one judge per caption, judge 2 will be replaced with a "dummy judge". The dummy judge is just the real score that the DCI judge gave the corps for that caption. Please do not look up the real DCI scores. Try to judge on your own.

No, you may pick only one caption to judge. Actually I prefer that everyone only picks one caption, but due to a shortage of judges, you may choose up to two captions, just not two music or two visual. If you choose two, pick one music and one visual caption.

I'll ask around and see if we can get more people to judge.

When will this start?

The rounds will be weekly starting opening day of season 52, but I'm okay with starting round 1 early. As busy as my real life has been lately, I'll probably need the extra time, anyway.

I'm just as eager as you are to begin the competition! Round 1 was supposed to begin at the beginning of Week 1, but it doesn't hurt to begin early in order to gather the judging panel and to give everyone some extra time to judge and submit scores.
