Matrix is an independent indoor marching percussion ensemble based out of Akron, Ohio. Matrix was formed in 1999 as a competitive indoor drumline and competes in the Winter Guard International and Mid East Performance Association circuits in the Independent World class. Members of Matrix come primarily from the state of Ohio and surrounding states and range in age from 16 to 23. Matrix has consistently been a MEPA and WGI Finalist since 1999. Matrix earned the bronze medal in WGI Open Class in 2000 and has been a WGI Independent World Class finalist since 2005
