Established shortly after Poland's liberation from Germany, the corps failed to open in its first 2 seasons as the Polski Victory Regiment. Nearly 40 years later in 1984, the corps was re-founded as the Avalon Drum & Bugle Corps. That first year of actual competition in Poland brought them numerous invitations from contests around the world. In 1987, the corps was invited to perform at the Presidential Palace in Warsaw where the group received the Gloria Artis, Poland's highest honor, for promoting polish culture and serving as the greatest example of the hard work of the polish people at the time. Since then, the corps has maintained around 140 marchers that compete internationally and have had many major successful seasons. Their Motto is "Tradition, Glory, and Poland!"
