Hey! I had some free time over Spring Break - so here are some updates and changes for Season 16:

- Scores will no longer be able to go over their maximum for each caption

- Leagues should no longer sometimes end up with no funds at the end of the season

- If a league does run out of funds by legitimate means from lack of event attendees, they will receive $30,000 at the beginning of next season to help them get going again

- Color Guard choreographers will have their effect on GE lowered to prevent score inflation in that caption

- Removed the Tier 7 option from the normal, non-league hosting page since its not available to normal groups in the first place

- Introducing a small random element to the scoring system to simulate differing judge viewpoints

No bribing. FMA judges are robots.

So how much variance is in a "small random element."

Probably something to do with the aspect of probability....

Small means each caption will not fluctuate up or down more than about 0.005 of what it normally would be. This is meant to add a little of the unexpected into the game, but not to replace the need for overall strategy.

So basically unless there's a tie situation. We shouldn't really see the random element ever really take place and have a factor on scores. Am I right?

I guess that depends on how close the scores are between two groups. You'd also see it if you didn't rehearse between two shows - your score would still probably go up or down.

Anybody want to sacrifice some rehersing to see around how much it can affect you?

All that'll happen is you stop gaining points.

I went three shows without rehearsing and my drum corps got the same score all three times, but there is a difference in the individual caption scores.
