This post was taken from reddit(https://redd.it/frbnv0) which explains the odd formatting once again.

Hello! [connorgavin7502](http://www.fantasymarchingarts.com/profile/10181), the originator of this series is busy with other commitments so I'll be doing the recaps for the remainder of the season, in their stead.

I'll attempt to keep the same formatting, including the **tl;dr** after each day's recap.

#With that being said, things are starting to heat up so let's get into the recap for Fantasy Marching Arts Season 85 Drum Corps!

>Like before we'll focus on one competition per day, this time from the second week recapping the winners, almost-winners, and things that generally stand-out.

#Week 2: Day 1
The second week of competitions began **March 9th** with hosts [Florida Dragon Regiment's](http://www.fantasymarchingarts.com/profile/2277/c) annual [Dragon Showcase of Corps](http://www.fantasymarchingarts.com/event/50434). Current Div. 1 frontrunner [Corps of Unspecified Identity](http://www.fantasymarchingarts.com/profile/27/c) maintained their historic lead taking Div. 1 gold with a score of 90.975. In what is likely to be the quickest time an FMA corps has broken 90 points. The corps scored ahead of second place [Nemesis](http://www.fantasymarchingarts.com/profile/277/c) by more than four and a half points and managed to take High Brass, Percussion, Vis. Performance, and Guard. Winning each caption with more than one point separating them and the second highest scorer. **Nemesis** takes the silver medal with a score 86.440 while also taking both GE Captions. [Continuum](http://www.fantasymarchingarts.com/profile/561/c) scores 85.960 earning them the bronze medal and both Ensemble captions, while also narrowing the gap between them and Nemesis to less than half a point.
Current Div. II frontrunner and event host **Florida Dragon Regiment** scored 70.330 earning them Div. II gold by nearly three points. Their winning score manifested itself in nearly every caption, except for Visual GE which dominant Div. II corps [Red Blazers](http://www.fantasymarchingarts.com/profile/8682/c) won. The corps also took silver with a score of 67.525. [Striders](http://www.fantasymarchingarts.com/profile/9727/c) remain competitive with a score of 66.495 and the bronze medal.
[Supernova](http://www.fantasymarchingarts.com/profile/3061/c) continues their winning streak taking Div. III gold with a score of 54.630. The fight for individual captions was tight, but in the end, Supernova ended up taking Best Brass, Percussion, Visual Performance, Guard, and Visual GE. [Laredo Conquistadors](http://www.fantasymarchingarts.com/profile/10109/c) scored 52.890 earning them the silver medal as well as both Ensemble captions and Music GE. Lastly, the bronze medal went to [Rainbow Beach Drum Corps](http://www.fantasymarchingarts.com/profile/10164/c) with a score of 51.140
>**tl;dr: Corps of Unspecified Identity maintains their strong lead and breaks 90 points. Nemesis and Continuum hold steady behind, while Continuum tightens the gap between them and Nemesis. In Div. [Kanpeki-sa](http://www.fantasymarchingarts.com/profile/10141/c) rounds off the top three scoring 65.935. The top three Div. II Corps were only separated by approximately 1.3 points. [Wondermint Rainbow Cavaliers](http://www.fantasymarchingarts.com/profile/9683/c) snagged their first gold medal of the season with a score of 83.215. The corps' win was backed up by solid Brass, Percussion, Visual, and Guard performances. For which they were the highest score earners. In Div. II corps **Florida Dragon Regiment** wins Best Brass, Percussion, Guard, and Vis. Performance. The corps added another gold medal to their trophy case after a solid performance earning them a score of 71.750. Despite Kanpeki-sa's clean ensemble and overall performance, the corps placed third overall with a score of 66.905. The **Red Blazers** did not take an individual caption, but their performance was polished enough to hold on to the silver medal with a score 68.335.
Only two Div. III corps competed on the 11th. **Laredo Consquitadors** won first place along with every individual caption, scoring a total of 53.775 points. Following behind in second was **Rainbow Beach Drum Corps** with a score 52.015.

#Week 2: Day 4
For the fourth day in a row, only one Drum Corps event was held. On **March 12th**, **Canada Corps** held their annual [Celebration of Sound](http://www.fantasymarchingarts.com/event/50561). **Corps of Unspecified Identity** wins their fourth competitive gold of the season with a score of 92.615. Their score improved by more than one and a half points since their last competitive performance. The corps takes six out of the eight captions, only narrowly losing both GE Captions to silver medalist and 18x FMA Div. I Champion **Nemesis**. Nemesis scored a total of 87.775. While the score gap between Nemesis and Corps of Unspecified Identity has remained consistent at less than five points, third place finisher **Continuum** continues to close in on Nemesis. Continuum scored 87.265, just half a point shy of second place. At the start of the season, these two corps were separated by 1.455 points, but based on trends Continuum may be planning to take the silver medal.

Div. II competition is reaching a fever pitch as corps from the middle of the pack close in on the leading corps. Second through fifth place were separated by less than a point. Though scores were much closer, caption and medal wins were consistent with previous placements. **Kanpeki-sa** earned top marks in their usual four captions despite placing outside of the podium, in 5th place. While current leader **Florida Dragon Regiment** once again takes Best Brass, Percussion, Vis. Performance, and Guard. **Striders** took home the bronze medal with a score of 68.545. **Red Blazers** scored 68.895 landing them in second. And above the pack, leading by 3.435 points is the Florida Dragon Regiment with a score of 72.330. Certainly looks like Div. II is in for an intense season.

**Supernova** in hopes of taking home their first Finalist Medal this season, wins first place with a score of 55.515. Supernova earned top marks in all captions except for Music GE which was awarded to **Laredo Consquitadors**, who took home the silver medal with a score of 53.770. **Rainbow Beach Drum Corps** take third with a score of 52.035

Kanpeki-sa is gaining on the leading corps and maintains their GE and Ensemble dominance. Supernova continues what looks to be a long time gold streak, with Laredo Consquitadors and Rainbow Beach Drum Corps following the podium.**

#Week 2: Day 5
On Friday **March 13th**, DTG hosted another wall-to-wall event entitled [New Orleans is “Unlucky”](http://www.fantasymarchingarts.com/event/50498). **Sigma Regiment** performed the follow up to their S84 show entitled “The Return”. Winning their fifth gold of the season with a score of 83.245. S. Regiment’s tour this season is focused solely on DTG events so it’ll be interesting to see if they can keep up their gold streak until Finals. The fight for individual captions was more competitive this go around. S. Regiment wins Best Vis. Performance. Second place corps **10th Regiment** hold the GE and Ensemble captions scoring 81.815 overall. [Atlantic Volt Drum and Bugle Corps](http://www.fantasymarchingarts.com/profile/9716/c) pick up Best Brass, Percussion, and Guard along with the bronze medal scoring 79.380, nearly a one point increase from the day before. **Atlantic Volt DBC** will definitely serve as a threat for leading corps seeing how they’ve continued to improve at a rate of about a point a day.
In Div. II, **Striders** win the gold medal earning Best Percussion, Visual Performance, and Color Guard with a score of 69.510. Just behind them in second place is **Kanpeki-sa**, taking silver with 68.860, along with top GE and Ensemble performance. I standings remained consistent with the current pace of the season. **Corps of Unspecified Identity** garnered another victory scoring 93.655 supported by six caption wins. **Nemesis** continues to win honors for GE, but narrowly holds on to second by a mere 0.025 points. **Continuum** continues to close in on the silver with a score of 88.450. However, in the end, Nemesis held their ground scoring 88.475 points.

**Supernova** wins gold yet again with an overall score of 56.030. The corps maintains their streak with support from five caption leads. Silver medalists **Laredo Conquistadors** managed to snatch top Vis. Ensemble from Supernova who won the caption two days ago. The Conquistadors also took home Music GE and second with an improved score of 54.335. [West Guards Drum and Bugle Corps](http://www.fantasymarchingarts.com/profile/10170/c) take home their second bronze medal of the season scoring 53.210. The corps also managed to take Best Percussion for the first time this season, up two placements from the day before!

>**tl;dr Corps of Unspecified Identity holds onto first and six captions with a considerable lead. Nemesis manages to take silver and GE over Continuum who continues to narrow their point gap. #Week 2: Day 7
Week two competitions ended on **March 15th**. FMA League, DTG, hosted their [Seasonal Ceremonial Marching Event](http://www.fantasymarchingarts.com/event/50480). In Division I, **Sigma Regiment** won gold supported by consistent scores across the board, ultimately taking top Vis. Performance. Just behind in third is **Atlantic Volt Drum and Bugle Corps** with an overall score of 81.085. Not only does Atlantic Volt DBC take Best Brass, Guard, and Percussion but the corps has decreased the point gap between them and 10th Regiment to 1.64 points down from 2.435 points just two days ago.
The Div. II dogpile continues into Day 7. The fight for medals and individual captions was close, but ultimately **Striders** won their fifth gold medal of the season edging out Galactic Sound and Kanpeki-sa for the honors. **Kanpeki-sa** took home five captions, winning both Music, Visual GE and Music, Visual Ensemble along with Vis. Performance. Despite their caption domination, Kanpeki-sa takes third overall scoring 70.780. Just 0.005 below **Galactic Sound** who took second, Best Guard, and Best Brass with 70.785. Striders held onto first and Best Percussion with 70.850. All in all, the top three were only separated seven-hundredths of a point. The closest gap margin between three corps we’ve seen thus far this season. Based on what we’ve seen this week it looks like Div. II standings will be shaking up next week.
**Rose City Drum and Bugle Corps** wins Div. III gold once again but their losing ground to silver medalist **Spartan Drum and Bugle Corps** in terms of captions and overall score. Rose City DBC takes Visual and Music Ensemble, Vis. Performance, and Music GE scoring 54.900 down .015 from two days ago. II podium all score within less of a tenth of a point. Kanpeki-sa won top marks in five captions but placed third overall. Galactic Sound narrowly holds the silver medal, while Striders takes Div. II gold. Rose City DBC’s score stagnates but the corps still takes first. Spartan DBC puts up a fight for captions but places second overall. West Chester RAM earns the bronze medal.**

#RECAP
* **Corps of Unspecified Identity**
* Maintains its historic lead and continues to dominate Div. I
* **Nemesis & Continuum**
* These two championship holders are locked in a battle for second. The week ended with Continuum overtaking Nemesis for the first time this season, but there’s a lot more season left.
* **Division II Pile-up**
* The Red Blazers and Striders have consistently placed within the podium, but rapid point growth from Galactic Sound and Kanpeki-sa challenge their placements. Scores are closer than ever entering the 3rd week, so the potential for podium shake-ups is high.
* **Rose City DBC vs. Supernova**
* These two corps have solidified gold streaks in the making, but they've yet to compete at the same event. Where these two corps end up in relation to one another by the end of the season is a mystery as of now.

I know it’s been a very long wait, but here it is! The Week 3 recap should be up sometime next week, if all goes to plan. Please leave any feedback/thoughts in the comments.
