FMA’s New Star of Indiana is the grandchild of Star of Indiana from Drum Corps International (DCI). The Star of Indiana transformed DCI with nine innovative, musically and visually challenging, and still memorable, repertoires from 1985-1993. Similarly, the goal of “New Star” is to revolutionize FMA. In its inaugural year, thanks in part to generous community support, New Star of Indiana brought a young corps to FMA with challenging drill and music, and a fun conceptual show about “Feelings”. We had a 'feeling' it would be a good run, but the unprecedented, 20-win and undefeated season was beyond the organization’s imagination! New Star of Indiana was honored to dedicate the record-setting introduction to FMA to grandfather Star with the gold medal in Division III. Season 21 is a rebuilding year for the corps; however, New Star plans to push the FMA envelope with innovation and new musical and visual concepts! Audiences and fellow FMA groups will continue to enjoy New Star of Indiana in Season 21 and more seasons after that!
