The North Texas Band Championship was held 1/30/12 at Mesquite Memorial Stadium in Mesquite Texas. 30 bands performed in an open contest with only 10 advancing to finals.

1st place went to the Marching Knights with a score of 90.160
The Knights also take home all captions in finals with their show "Velocity"

2nd place- W.C. Latin Band with a 82.935
Show is titled "Trust and Betrayal"

3rd place went to the host Red Raiders scoring a 82.220
Show titled "Visions"

4th place was Night Area HS with a score of 81.400
Show was "Journey of Man"

In 5th place was Commenwelth Arts Academy HS with a 80.345
Show included "Wind"

In 6th place and upset minded was the Blue Band with a 75.050
Show included "Winter" This was very pleasing to the crowd and judges having a Div 3 band make finals and place so well up against the higher Level bands.

In 7th place was Edgar Allen Diddle Hs scoring a 73.030
Show was "A Midsummer Night's Dream" The highest placed Div 2 group of the contest

8th place went to the Dunkirk Marauders with a score of 70.580
Show "mo town" Another Div 2 placing in finals

In 9th place was Imperial Sound HS with a 69.805
Show title "Magical Mystery Tour" Div 2

In 10th place was Graffiti-ini with a 65.445
Show "PIRATES!" A Div 3 band taking the last finals spot by a wide mark

Congrats and good luck for the rest of the season, and we will be hosting again next season at new North Texas City and venue

Well, it's good to be in the top 5! Maybe next season we'll edge closer to the groups scoring 90!

Right, I'm actually surprised that I started getting my big point gains during finals week. I thought I would have got them a week or so earlier, but I guess better late than never
