I may be going for crown after all! One of my friends from statesmen told me i could go with them to the first camp! I would have transportation, I have a job paying 9 bucks an hour so my dream could come true this summer! Now all i have to do is convince my parents to let me do it :P

All drum corps staff understand that school comes before drum corps, and will make sure you don't have to miss any school work if you march for them. If school becomes a conflict, send them an email and they'll work with you.

Strad, you said some of your friends are going to Spartans? I'm probably going to be there. And unless you are a percussionist, "Audition for the Spartans" is an oxymoron. Because of the part of the country they are located in, they don't get nearly enough brass players to audition them. I was able to join during April for the 2013 season. However, we were on the same level as other Open Class corps who DID have auditions. Also, don't worry about having to show up to every weekend camp in April. I live in KANSAS, so they let me show up to one April camp, then move in once the semester ended.

Oh wow that's awesome! And that is very exciting to hear! The open house is next weekend, but when is the next camp after open house?

Aged out this year, but if not I would of considered going to Vanguard or Bluecoats.
