So my little cousin has finally hit the age where he decided he would rather take band than P.E. in school now and decided to go with tradition and play the Tuba. He brought home the school horn so that he could practice over summer break and when I went to visit him and two other from my family we decided to see if any of us could still play.

I unfortunately have forgotten almost all of my scales, but the one thing that I remembered better than everyone else were my Pedal Tones. You know the notes that Tuba players strive for like trumpets strive for miles above the staff we go for miles below.

I guess my pride as a tuba player would never let me forget them.
