I only had a bit of information from what I could remember and from some searching the forums. It's not long, but it's interesting to see where the league system came from. If you have anything to add or fix, post it here and I'll add it in!

I was one of the big pushers for combines, so the fact that leagues are such a big part of playing on FMA today is kind of cool to me!

The only thing I would say was different as I recall it was that I want new to combines as of season six, I also had been very interested in them and had been in the NEC and ECC since the beginning. I believe when the ECC evolved to become CLASS in order to be a nationwide organization was when we switched from combines to leagues of which a few of us were huge advocates for. CLASS became the first drum corps league along with IIEA for percussion and guard.
