After a three season Hiatus, the Axis Powers are back! Unfortunately, after so many seasons of not marching on the field, all groups for the duration of this season will host stand-still concerts on the marching field, each using their sheer talent of musical performance to hopefully sway judges and audience members alike to this unorthodox method of performance.

First up, Legion Tamburo Corpo is proud to present: "Ovation: Symphonie on the Field." Each piece performed by the corps this season are full-length brass versions of the original pieces, including a returning favorite of the corps, the Maestoso movement from the "Organ Symphony (Symphony No. 3)" by Camille Saint-Saëns. Other pieces in their repertoire include Percy Grainger's "Molly on the Shore," Antonin Dvorak's Largo movement from the "New World Symphony (Symphony No. 9)," and another Saint-Saëns work, "Danse Bacchanale."

Next, Der Reich Blaskapelle is proud to present: "Standing on the Shoulders of Giants." The marching band will see its first performance back in its original uniforms, rather than their custom-made "SS" uniforms from season 40. The Pre-Show portion of the performance will start off with a rich and powerful brass ballad, "On a Hymnsong of Philip Bliss," by David R. Holsinger. The first true movement features a familiar tune for all Star Wars fans attending the show, "Duel of the Fates," by John Williams. The show then transitions through two modern tunes, the first being Sara Bareilles' "Gravity" and Afrojack's "Ten Feet Tall." The show concludes with a powerful fanfare, Aaron Copeland's "Fanfare for the Common Man" to be exact!

In their first non-dubstep performance, the IJD will be performing exciting percussion arrangements of Percy Grainger's "Children's March," Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture," and finally reveling with a piece shared with Legion - "Danse Bacchanale" by Camille Saint-Saëns.

In other notes, the Red East Classic III is scheduled for drum corps on July 4th. Don't miss out! Sign up today!

In a way, yes. It is just like a symphony orchestra stood and performed in a field.
