has anyone been paying attention to the craziness going on with DCI this week?

All the stuff that's going on is pretty crazy

I've seen some stuff about it. It's absurd

long story very short--the Arsenal director made a post on reddit telling kids from OC and Pioneer that what happened to them and what staff had allowed to happen to them was ridiculous and if they wanted a home that would protect them Arsenal was offering a discount for every impacted member. Dan Acheson came back and said it violated the media policy of DCI because of disparaging comment about another corps (though one could argue neither corps is active so thats not valid). Due to the violation Arsenal would no longer be consider for Open Class and could try again in a year and oh they had given him the chance to remove the post but he refused. The director has provided proof that that offer was never extended and they just went straight to denial of the application. It has caused a change.org petition to instate Arsenal and remove Dan with over 2500 signatures last I saw and now the philly paper has picked up on this as well.

In my opinion Dan has botched so many issues over the years with these allegations that it starts at the top--clean house.

But why punish Arsenal when they are simply stating what DCI has already said??

Because DCI is run by stubborn jerks who are only protecting their own jobs and trying to make themselves feel bigger than they are. Especially since they have come under so much fire recently with all the sexual misconduct that has been revealed that they clearly have done little to actually prevent in the past. It is literally just a giant sh*! show.

I agree that its punishing Arsenal for something DCI already said anyway--plus the rule says you cant say anything against any active corps--well neither are active for 2019 so how is that against a rule? Dan needs to go--he is a huge part of all this mishandling thats been happening and yet he keeps his job

See this is honestly why I’ve been drifting away from DCI lately... it’s just... yeah it’s a mess.

It makes me really sad because I love the activity, but I can't support this. I'll be spending more money on BOA now
