Season 78 reset early I guess.(maybe making up for being late with last season? :D) This is, as always is, a general discussion thread for posting events, results, etc. I hope everyone has a GREAT season!

Just an advertisement for the National Show Band Association league. We want more people involved! It’s a fun league! We have leagues for Band, Guard and Drumline!

How did everyone's division placement turn out? All of my groups are in division I now. I'm hoping to keep top 6 with all my groups, last season's scores showed that all my groups would have made at least top 7 in div I. This of course assumes there is no sudden growth of div I.

The summer season usually sees a HUGE spike in activity, especially with some old players who've been playing for years. so top 6 may be a tough sell for your groups if you miss any rehearsals. I may even struggle to stay in the top 6. Not impossible though!

Jesus! I have three ensembles in group 1! This is terrifying.

My Corps has moved up to division II. This will be interesting.

I haven't seen a rush of old players like in years past so who knows what Division I will look like lol

Is it just me or did everybody had an unsual spike? Some people are already in D2 and they are level 9.

If membership overall is down that could have happened

3 of my groups got moved up to Division 2 so I’m very excited for this season

I've noticed that promotion spikes usually happen when there are a lot of new players joining that are being placed in D3

Yeah, my marching band didn't participate last season, but I brought them back this season and they got put in D2

After the first show, all my groups are towards the bottom of their divisions. This happened last season as well, and I usually don't start rising in position until near the end of the season. I'll just have to see how many groups end up in div I this season.

Same, this is my first season where I did, start in the back of the pack, I thought I was going to start good, guess not :(

It's a long season though!

There's a lot less DIII groups this season compared to last season. Almost half as many. Maybe as the season goes on there will be more new players joining?

There's a lot less of every division. Just less and less people interested each season I guess.

I joined a few days ago, what time of the day do events occur?

With last night’s parade down Main Street U.S.A., FMA Season 78 is halfway over! What a season it has been! ENCORE! Ensembles currently hold 3 of the top 5 places worldwide and the Marching Knights of Portland, Maine are way out in front with almost a 6 point lead. The race for second place is close with only a little over a point separating the Mt. Juliet Band of Gold and the Spanish Park Regiment with Onachus only 0.080 points behind the Band of Gold.

In Division 3, The Pride of Plymouth High School is in first place in their very first year of FMA competition and with a commendable lead! Blue Heroes are holding in there at 5th place but within reach of 2nd as only two points separate them. It has been exciting seeing some of our newest members both Arkansas Marching Band and North Salem’s Pride of the Vikings grow throughout this season, and while this first year may seem slow, we applaud them and encourage them to keep rehearsing and next season they can really go places!

Perhaps, while not always placing highest, New Castle’s show “Time Waits for No Man” has become a continual crowd pleaser and along with ENCORE!’s other D2 band, Thoroughbreads, we are happy to see such ensembles bringing to heart the mission of ENCORE! Bands!

This year, perhaps more than any other, the show themes have been spectacularly broad. Seeing everything from Jersey Boys to Armenian Dances, the shows have been unique and exciting! Only a few more weeks until the ENCORE! Championships and after that the FMA Finals! And if this season is any sign as to how future seasons will be, I am more excited than anything to see what Season 79 has to bring!
