Hello!

This is to inform both new and returning groups to events hosted by the Buchanan High School Performing Arts Association (BHSPAA) that said events will now be scheduled on the last day of the regular competitive schedule, rather than in the 3rd week of the regular season in the past. The reason behind this is to help our events feel more like a culmination of the season (i.e. the MCBA State Finals are hosted this way in the state of Michigan).

On Thursday, March 17, 2022, Buchanan High School will be hosting the following events:

Spirit of Bucktown Drum and Bugle Corps
Cavalcade of Brass XXI (21)

Buchanan High School Buck Marching Band
57th Annual MCBA State Championships

Buchanan High School Independent
Cavalcade of Colors XVIII (18)

Buchanan High School Indoor Buckline
Cavalcade of Drums XVIII (18)

Events hosted by the corps and the Buck Marching Band will take place in Memorial Stadium on the campus of Buchanan High School. Events hosted by the BHS Independent and Indoor Buckline will take place in the auxiliary gym of Buchanan High School, located close to the stadium.

Parking for these events is located in front of the football stadium and can be accessed from Smith and Chicago Streets. While admission tickets start at $25, parking will be free to the public the day of the event(s) your group is attending. Buses should plan on parking across from the football field along the fence that lines Smith Street. Equipment trailers may be unloaded in the lot adjacent to the fenceline. Spectator parking will be limited to the west end of Smith and Chicago Streets and the student parking lot in front of the stadium. Please plan to arrive early, as parking will get congested following awards ceremonies.

A shame! The LOMB would have loved to attend the MCBA state championships once more! Unfortunately BoA grand national finals are the same day! A bummer, but we will be sure to represent Michigan well at BoA! Best of luck to you this season!

We feel for you! The BHS BMB will be performing in the BOA Grand National Finals this year and in future seasons to ensure all groups have ample opportunity to attend all events hosted by the BHSPAA, including the MCBA State Finals. Instead, we will be performing in exhibition at the Cavalcade of Brass event and the March 2022 MCBA State Finals.
