After a somewhat late start, another season begins! For the very first time, every one of my groups have a named show this season! What a revolution! I'm hoping to move back up to Div 1 this time around but for that to happen, we'll probably need more people to fill out all of the divisions. Therefore, I'm calling on you fellas to do a bit of recruiting if you can and try to fill out more shows this season. I'll be resuming my formerly regular announcements on the drum corps subreddit

Just noticed I'm now completely in div 2... this is starting to get frustrating to be honest

As someone new to this, how it will affect division 3 with an overinflated D1 and D2? Hopefully there is a solution to all of this.

Sorry lemon, that sucks man. My guard got placed in D2 as well and it’s frustrating, can’t imagine that but for all four.

Mellosaxophone, I don’t pay attention much to div 3 if I’m being honest so I don’t know who should be there and who shouldn’t, but my guess is if groups got moved down from D1 to D2 odds are some groups got moved from D2 to D3 so you may run into that issue, but I wouldn’t worry about it, just do the best you can.

D2 has needed some readjustment for a bit now. From what I saw the last few seasons it seems like the top of D2 scores around or above some of D1. Honestly it's to the point where I think it would be better with just 2 Divisions, keep D1 and D3 the same, as upper and lower divisions, and split D2 within them. But seeing as we haven't gotten a major update in years that idea is just a pipe dream.

Divisions in general as of season 100 got pretty funky because we saw an influx of both old and new players joining for season 100 and then leaving again, so I'm assuming the algorithm probably got thrown and tossed about and is still trying to recover.

Sounds like there is just some variability within this. Excited to see how the shows turn out nevertheless! Good luck this season to everyone!
