I will preface this by saying that I am aware that updates/improvements to FMA are few and far between.

Here is my idea for FMA World Championships

When you register your group to compete you will get to choose between competing in World Championships or Division Championships. You will also get the opportunity to change your classification within the first 2 weeks of competitions.

How this will work is every group will still compete within their division for the entirety of the season but at the end will "split" into competing for Division Championships and World Championships. But you cannot compete in both. (We could but that doesn't seem reasonable to compete twice in the same day)

Division championships will compete like how they always have for FMA history.

But for World Championships.

All who choose to participate will compete together as one "Division" and it will act as a regular division but with higher stakes. It would still be 50% to Semis and 12 to finals. You will still receive banners and medals for participating in the World Championships.

But, I think it would also be cool if you could also receive money for making finals.

1st place: $12,500
2nd place: $10,000
3rd place: $7,500
4th - 6th: $5,000
7th - 12th: $2,500

[Semifinalists will also earn $1,000 for making it to Semifinals]

This would give a sort of incentive for groups to compete and would give some incentive to compete more actively.

Seems like a cool idea! I think you could reasonably combine them if one just took place after the other. Maybe division championships first to emulate regional competitions and then the 'world' championships a day or two later?
