The Mid TN Drum Show was hosted by Inception Theatre, and it took place inside of a giant oven. It was pretty difficult getting into the venue itself because there were only so many people that could fit onto the cookie sheet at one time. When the baker had finished placing all of us into the oven, the show started. Today’s show seemed really short because the increased temperature made everyone march faster. During Inception Theatre’s performance of “Inferno,” a giant pizza was loaded onto the upper rack (the show was taking place on the lower rack). Ten minutes later, melty cheese started to drip onto the tarps, the instruments, the performers, and the audience. Eventually, everything was grounded to a halt because of the cheese and an extra hour was set aside so it could be cleaned up. After the scores were announced, everyone partook of the giant pizza; and the pizza was so good that it made me forget about SouthBeat’s incredibly low placement.
