Its official! CLASS (Corps League Association for Superior Sight/Sound) joins FMA! CLASS has been amongst elite corps in FDCI (Fantasy Drum Corps International) VCL (Virtual Corps League) and DCPI (Drum Corps Planet International). Numerous trophies and championship line the halls of CLASS corps and now here is your chance to join the best of the activity! CLASS has merged with the ECC to bring a new brand of excitement and showmanship to FMA! The big change this allows for ECC is, you no longer need to be an east coast corps! Corps around the world are welcome in CLASS! Rules will remain similar for FMA as the ECC. Part of membership requires that you host a show and designate it with CLASS. To start with we will plan the prelimns and CLASS Championships format. If we grow large enough we will include regionals!

What do you need to join CLASS FMA? A willingness to participate in our show season (currently the middle weeks) and desire to be involved and make your own impact on the activity! The CLASS corps are known for working together to help each member enjoy the activity and become the best that they can at their own level. Nemesis, two time defending world champion is among the founding members along with all season 5 ECC corps.

also, I will be acting as CLASS Chairman and we need a CLASS FMA President, Vice President and Secretary (run website in event thats not the VP job?) ideas?

I guess I can go back to running the Championship stuff. I realized how much time I actually spend on here even when I don't have time. But, because of the efforts I'm doing with the IIEA reports, I can't do much else. That takes a lot of time. I spent about 4 hours on that last score report.

ya im going to do better of reports here. I would say for this season Ill still set schedule but I would think President would work the total and VP would run finals...

So here are the weeks. I say for now we continue to not have shows week 1 and try to continue our relationship with GCC. Week 2 starts Feb 6and last regular show would be Feb 27th (sunday) prior to CLASS Championships. Do we still want Finals format as is now or would we prefer CLASS Championships be a big Saturday event prior to FMA Finals?

A big Saturday event would be cool, but if membership exceeds 30, we'll be forced to have a Friday Prelims.

true--i dont think it will for a while and we will still have a prelimn on Friday anyway in place of the regionals (if we get that big)

Ok. Should we create a scale for how many get in to Champs? So that like a true Prelims/Champs format, not everyone gets in. Everyone would apply for Prelims and Champs, and everyone is accepted to Prelims, but NOBODY is accepted to Champs. Then, the VP or whoever's job it is would get on after 8pm that Friday and accept applications from the corps that earned Champs spots. Thoughts?

exactly what i was thinking. Given the current size I think it will still remain all, but I hope after our first season we can continue growth. Maybe since we can fill 30 spots all together we just say the top 30 score wise regardless of class or top ten from each class...

Yeah top ten from each class would be cool. Don't wanna snub any D2 or D3 corps because a bunch of D1 corps scored high (if we just did a straight top 30).

Animal's got a good point. I mean, those groups are in those divisions for a reason.

Ok so looks like we are in agreement...prelimns friday all corps...finals saturday before fma finals week...all corps in prelimns top ten each division finals
