Happy Holidays everyone! I'm here to give you the scoop on what happened this Christmas in the colorguard circuit of the IIEA with the IIEA Show Review! Ive been working at this for about 2----er I mean 3 hours now, and you'll soon see why!

Tonight Lunar Anomaly's Moonlit Christmas Colorguard Competition started off the season. 20 groups competed tonight and our scores ranged from 61.233 to 78.156! All scores in this release use the new IIEA scoring guidelines. Without anymore delay here are the scores!

We'll start with the Scholastic Novice group.

Scholastic Novice
1. Broken Arrow CG - 67.186 (All Captions)

The group from Southfork, TX was the only Scholastic Novice of the day, but their show about donkeys was very much noticed out of all the shows today. Let's move on to the Open Novice groups now.

Open Novice
4. Nuance - 64.996
3. Phantasmigoria - 66.877
2. Bohemian Guard - 71.083
1. Blue Demons Winterguard - 71.516 (All Captions)

It was quite the battle for first place tonight in Open Novice, with only less than half a point difference! The winning factor here was GE. "A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum" was a great choice for Blue Demons, and the judges agreed!

Next up are the Scholastic A groups!

Scholastic A
3. Envision Academy of Arts Winterguard - 64.834
2. Northgate Winter Guard - 66.697 (EN)
1. Kelly Visual Theatre - 68.825 (EQ, MT, GE)

Envision surprised the judges tonight, being an FMA Division 3 group competing in a class normally occupied by Division 2 groups, they performed rather well. The winner, Kelly Visual Theatre's show "Your Fate is Sealed" was applauded by the judges for its great effect moments. Whereas Northgate's show, "Brr, It's Cold Here" was very together, and had some moments of its own! Now we need to move on to the Open groups.

Open A
6. Nukem Guard - 61.233
5. Weight-Watchers - 61.633
4. Legends Winterguard - 69.753
3. Synechdoche Motif - 75.957
2. Wonder Girls - 77.136
1. Guard of Unspecified Identity - 78.156 (All Captions)

We were very lucky tonight to have witnessed some of the top Open groups at this first show! Guard of Unspecified Identity took it all with their Unspecified show. As usually, we only wish we could know what their show was specifically! On a side note, the mist popular show of the Open A's seems to be Wonder Girls. It might be biased, since when I looked at the voting line, it was mainly comprised of men.

Let's move on to the wonderful World Class!

Scholastic World
EXHIBITION : Lunar Anomaly - 69.243
2. Night Area High School Colorguard - 70.164
1. The Knight Guard - 76.066 (All Captions)

The moving show of The Knight Guard truly moved the judges to tears tonight as they performed "The Black Swan". The show was wonderfully designed, and we are excited to see how they improve this season. Competition host, Lunar Anomaly's show, A Tribute was equally touching. Night's show "Rise" proved clean, but seemed to lack the GE boost they needed and were 3rd in that category including Lunar Anomaly.

And last, the Open World groups.

Open World
8. Queen of Hearts - 61.403
7. White Cross Magic - 63.407
6. Ripple Effect - 68.09
5. High Altitude - 68.19
4. Darklaw Guard - 68.797
3. Exhale - 70.619
2. The Tullahoma City Spinners - 72.113
1. Apple Valley Color Creators - 73.273 (All Captions)

Apply Valley took the show in Open Class tonight clearing all captions. Their show, Apocalypse, had everything a show needs, a world falling apart, good weapon work and great GE. The fight in the middle was tough as 3 groups all scored within a point of each-other. Darklaw was ahead of the other two in all captions except GE, where Ripple Effect was ahead, followed by High Altitude, and leaving Darklaw behind the two.

The night had some great moments! I hope to see your group in the next IIEA Show Review! Here are some other notes. If you are going to be a part of any upcoming IIEA competitions and decide you that your group should be in a different class, just send a message before the competition date! A list of IIEA colorguard dates will be posted at the end. Any indoor group can join the IIEA. The only thing that you must do is attend at least one IIEA sponsored competition, or competition hosted by a current IIEA member. Also be sure to note the IIEA Chapter Championships on January 17th!
