I hope you all had a very merry Christmas! Today’s “3rd Annual Midwest Drumline Showcase” was incredibly festive. All the drumlines dressed up as elves and the audience dressed up as reindeer. One drumline even placed a Nativity set somewhere in their show. The host unit “Overture” didn’t compete today as they were busy running everything behind the scenes (they were even nice enough to stop the killer snowmen outside from getting in). In accordance to Overture’s show theme, today’s event was actually animated and it looked very much like a Disney feature from the 1940’s. Given all the CGI in today’s movies, the two-dimensional drumlines were very refreshing. When everything was done, we all had cartoon milk and cookies, and then sang Christmas carols.
