Wow I'm getting good at this! .125 difference total in my VP scores! I remember when I basically had to take VP my first time judging, now I'm actually pretty good at it

For those who are still interested, I'm creating the season 54 competition :) More shows have been added to the list. Currently I'm randomly picking corps and placing them against each other. Stay tuned!

P.S I'd really appreciate it if more directors, in addition to the ones we already have, decided to judge this season. Thank you :)

I can only guarantee I can judge the first two matchups because of college, it would be awesome to get some new directors in here!

Season 54 will match up historic DCI shows with shows from the 2000's and beyond. There will be 13 corps battling each other for the season 54 title. Thus, there will be three competing corps in rounds 1, 2, and 3, and four competing corps in round 4. The winners of rounds 1, 2, and 3 will automatically advance to finals. The top 2 winners of round 4 will automatically advance. In addition to these 5 corps that automatically advance, 3 of the highest scoring eliminated corps will compete at finals to form a top 8.

The judging rules will remain the same with one exception. I ask that you judge a different caption each time you judge. For example, if you judge brass in round 1, do not judge brass in rounds 2, 3, or 4, but you may judge brass again for finals. Not only will it keep the judging interesting, changing captions each round will give your fellow judges a chance to judge each caption and will help to minimize any bias. As usual, if we do not have enough judges, you may judge two captions; just make sure that one is a music caption and one is visual.

I don't have a problem with it. I think it's a good idea. There's 8 areas to judge, 4 music and 4 visuals. If you're more a visual person like me, you can choose a different visual caption each round unless you aren't a guard person. Then, instead of guard pick a music caption that round. Choose the one you're best at judging for finals. I.ll start with vis perf.

I might rotate music and visual from week to week.... starting with percussion

Who else is judging what? :D Guard, GEM, and GEV are still open.

Also, if you don't want to judge those captions, you may be a second judge for any of the other captions that already have a judge 1. If not, like usual judge 2 will be the DCI judge.

Looks like ME and VE have been taken and despite my success in this game I am NOT qualified to do guard lol. I'll sit out a round, but I'd like to judge later if there ends up being room for me.

If you want, you're more than welcome to be a second judge for ME or VE. We usually have two judges per caption, anyway. Sometimes, the second judge is the DCI judge ( or, at least, his or her score).

I'm surprised nobody's taken GE yet, those are usually pretty quick to fill
