Hello, i was just wondering 400 is the Maximum energy you can save up ? or is that just the starting amount?

It is just the starting amount. By learning the Motivation director skill, you can increase the amount of maximum energy your group has.

it seems a major flaw compared to the previous version was if you didnt start on day one--your significantly behind already with people who have logged in each day--since this wasnt an issue previously I didnt think it would be an issue here--am I wrong that you only get the 400 per day and if you dont use it it doesnt get any higher? Having played 14 seasons of the other version--its a little disheartening that as much time as I put in, I am going to start a level one and many are already level 4's...if people have no chance to catch up--could kill this one fast

Gary - I think you get 100 per hour (max 400) if I'm not mistaken. Play every four hours and you can catch up pretty quick!

This game is more based on player progression than anything else. You might be behind the best players, but then you'll be put into Division 2 or Division 3 until you catch up, if you even want to catch up. You get 400 total energy, which can be increased, and you regenerate 100 per hour.

so if you are running the highest campaign (60), then your max would be 340?

You have a campaign running using 30 energy.

Yeah, what Ancient said, if you have a campaign running, you won't max out at 400, you'll always stay at 400 - (whatever the campaign is)

I understand that the current system has a motive to log on and rehearse as much as possible, increasing traffic flow and interaction with all the players. I get that, and it's cool. My only gripe is that it gives a huge advantage to those who have a computer at their desk at work and can log on 4 or 5 times a day, maximizing their energy. For folks like me, not so cool. My corps is going to suffer big time because I'm spending all of next week in training and won't be around a computer or a cell phone. I just got to the top of div 3 too. </rant>

The only problem I have is I march in a DCA corps so when i go away all weekend for camp or a show I come back and i'm way behind everybody else, because the energy maxes out after only 10 hours if i have campaigns at 60, and when your gone for around 48 hours you lose a lot rehearsal time.

@flamtap same thing here. I have DCA this weekend and I am so worried because my groups are doing so well and I don't want to watch them slip down in rank because of a weekend of 0 FMA rehearsal :(

haha yeah, it kinda sucks to come home from an awesome weekend of real drum corps, to have your fantasy corps way behind haha. The trick i use is to put my promotions to cash and then spend the money on staff, it kinda helps but not as much as rehearsal time

Solution suggestion:

Instead of the increasing capacity by 5 skill, perhaps the skill could cost a little more and increase hourly recharge amount by 5. This would make the skill well worth it for those who are on all the time.

For people that can't come on as often, there could be another skill (purchasable at say level 5) that increases your maximum energy by 100. Once you've invested enough skill points into this skill, it could max at 800 energy. That way, people with 8 hour work days wouldn't have to worry about it. This skill wouldn't affect you recharge amount at all. People investing into this skill would gain the exact same amount of energy per hour, but could wait longer without logging on.

You could make these skills cost enough skill points to where you can't reasonable afford to invest in both.
