Martin Muse was originally a music education program local to Sharon Tennessee, the goal of this organization was to provide instruments to children who could not afford them. This program eventually became popular outside of Sharon, they grew into a semi-popular marching band program for youth and young adults around west Tennessee and southwestern Kentucky. They competed in many local band competitions around west Tennessee: The Gibson county high school marching invitational, the Choctaw classic, the Huntington high school marching invitational, etc. Over time, the program grew into a well respected drum corps and moved to the city of Martin, becoming the Martin Muse Drum and Bugle Corps.
