Show Title
Wounded Knee
Repertoire
A very theatrical show depicting the final conflict between the Native Americans and American Troops. Woodwind, Guard, and Drumline Members are dressed up in costume that is similar to a Native American style. While the brassline is dressed up in an 1800's-esque cavalry uniform. Music from this show is derived from FHC's Spartan Regiment's 2005 show of the same title. The first movement opens up with the introduction of both the Native Americans and American Regiment with the first note being a powerful brass hit. The second movement begins with a very soft and eerie melody played by the flutes which then opens up with a very emotional and powerful rendition of that melody by the whole ensemble. The third movement begins with a quick excerpt played by the ensemble and then is interrupted by a drumline feature which symbolizes when battle ensues. The last minute finishes with an eerie and chilling ending as the American troops win and Native Americans attempt to recover. This makes the audience question if this battle was really a good thing in history.
