This is the B group for Carolina Crown. Many of CCBs members do go to march on as members of the world class Carolina Crown Drum Corps as they get older. The organization now known as Carolina Crown was founded in 1988 as the Charlotte Drum Corps Association. Originally, it resembled somewhat of a fraternity as group members (primarily drum corps enthusiasts and alumni) held periodic meetings in the Charlotte area. Their first competitive season was held in 1990; their show was called "The Music Man". Now many years later, the group competes in the DCI World Class and has a reputation for being one of the finalist groups each year as they bring their spectacular shows to the field. Top five placements include 2nd place in 1991 ("Music of Prokofiev"), 3rd place in 1991 ("Dances of Malcolm Arnold"), and 1st place in 1993 ("La Fiesta Mexicana") while in Division II, and 4th place in 2008 ("Finis"), 2nd place in 2009 ("The Grass is Always Greener"), 4th place in 2010 ("A Sec2nd Chance"), 4th place in 2011 ("Rach Star"), 2nd place in 2012 ("For the Common Good"), 1st place in 2013 ("E=mc^2"), and 5th place in 2014 ("Out of This World") while in Division I/World Class.
