Phantom always makes MAJOR changes right before the end of the season, They are 99% of the time good changes so we will just have to see :)... As for Scouts, I believe they peaked allowing Phantom and Possibly even Bluecoats to slip by come finals night... I would really like to see Bluecoats come ahead of phantom but once again we will have to sit back and see what happens... IMO Bluecoats have a better more rounded show then Phantom but are lacking some visually!

Yeah, they changed their opener IIRC.

But i have a feeling like it won't do much for score gains...

There is NO way CC will win this year with their drumline performing the way they are this year. The ONLY reason they won last show was because....
THERE WAS NO DRUM JUDGE.

I don't make this stuff up... Now.. if CC didn't have a >5th place drumline, they would probably be smoking everyone. Until that time comes though, they are done. BD and possibly Cadets and SCV will pass them up.

I never said anything except that Carolina Crown would have won the Warrenton, Va show regardless of percussion. (I also realize you are just commenting and aren't calling me out specifically).

To my eyes and ears, BD has an obvious advantage in percussion (which you have pointed out) and are being rewarded for it. To my eyes (and ears), CC has a similarly obvious advantage in brass, but are only barely if at all being compensated. I don't understand why such a blatantly superior brass line is not being rewarded in the same fashion as the blatantly superior drum line.

I was with you until you said Cadets and SCV passing up Crown. That just simply isn't going to happen. BD and Crown are too good - it's either of theirs to take - with BD in the lead because of drums... and ONLY because of drums. Otherwise, as you pointed out - they'd be killing everyone, even BD.

But I actually enjoy re:Rite. Saw it live in Murfreesboro and it blew me away. I knew at that point it was going to be tough to beat. And I'd actually like to see SCV jump into 3rd and take home Bronze. I love this show - it fits them perfectly and they are performing the heck out of it. The show design is just fantastic.

In any case, the close competition has made for a fun and exciting season. One more week!

I don't know if SCV can pass up Crown, but Cadets have the potential to. Cadets and SCV always make huge pushes and changes in the last 2 weeks.. they have both won championships based on their work during that time.

What did Crown do? They made a huge announcement about a big ending change... and then they made a crown. really? No... that is not going to win you a championship. like I said, talented.. but the staff is just not that yet (experience wise).

They will get there though, and they will win.. but I just don't see it happening this year

The big ending change isn't the crown... it was revealed last night. Obviously not perfected and needs work, but they have a week.

Their drumline had an entire summer.. see how "needs work, but they have a week" doesn't make me a believer? :)

I was speaking specifically on cleaning their closer.

It's all relative though. Once the drumline plays in the closer, all that drill/design work is pointless.

As I said in your other thread anything can happen I dont know who will win but I know it will come down to the wire.
