Finally got to see all of the top twelve groups tonight. Haven't enjoyed a BD show that much in at least ten years.

I like how Blooooo passed Phantom. I called this one; Phantom was a mess tonight. And it's still a close one between Crown and BD. Crown scores 100 in GE Music but their drum score is still hurting them - Scouts beat them tonight - not good. And Cadets appear to pull away from SCV... I had them a little closer than this, but would agree Cadets were better tonight.

BD's spread will only get bigger with the judges for the next two nights. I wouldn't be surprised with BD winning on Saturday by .6-.8

That or it might be 2008 all over again. :( hate that year.
This year is crazy though. Madison Scouts are coming up to beat Cavies again, Crusaders back in the bottom 12, Coats finally topped Phantom, and it seems that SCV is no longer in contention with The Cadets...

Butttt, anything is possible this season.

I agree cire, but it's pretty ridiculous that the spread will grow. The spread that happened last night is about as big as it should be for either corps (excluding something weird happening).

subjective scoring just sucks. Does a corps really get 1-2 points better from semis to finals? I doubt it.. but it always works that way. or whatever when the season ends 1-2 weeks earlier and everyone scores the same as they typically would come finals time.. was every corps just that much better during the shorter season? nope.

Definitely subjective (and I agree with everything cire said and might even want to take it a step further), but I honestly think this was the right result. I'm interested to see the recap. Hopefully the scores hold up tomorrow night.

Very strange... Crown's percussion shot up from 7th at prelims to 4th at semis...

Above Bluecoats, which... the judge must've been on drugs. Phantom 10th in drums, really? They're not the best line, but certainly not that low.

Crown wins by three tenths of a point if their quarterfinals score is substituted for their semifinals score (for drum line).

There is a reason these judges are judging tonight and not tomorrow.

No way CC's drumline was 6-8th place all year long until tonight. Don't buy it.. and BD's hornline got shat on... anyways, tomorrow is a whole new competition with completely different judges.. I'm not too worried about it.

So any final thoughts on finals? I personally feel that this year will be one that goes down in DCI history including having crowns show reach the same level as SPARTACUS, Frameworks or any of the other historical and loved shows.

As good as Crown's show was, I didn't think it was at the same level as the other shows. If you wanna measure it by audience reaction, it wasn't even close. Look at the closer reaction for Spartacus in comparison to Crown 2013

I agree. Sparticus crowd reaction at the end of the show was INSANE.
