Show Title
MARCHING 100 FIELD SHOW
Repertoire
The drumline shatters the stadium silence with a thunderous, syncopated cadence, signaling the band to execute a high-step march from the back sideline directly into a massive, tightly packed block formation at the center of the field. As the cadence rolls to a halt, the field goes dead silent. The announcer’s voice booms over the stadium loudspeakers, throwing down the challenge:Announcer: "Ladies and gentlemen! You’ve been talking out the side of your neck all week long... but the Jukebox is here to shut it down! From the 50-yard line, Southern University, show 'em how we rock!"On the final word, the entire band lets out an aggressive, collective shout: "Hoo-Ah!" They instantly drop into a deep, synchronized side-to-side sway. The brass section unleashes the iconic, heavy opening chords of "Neck," projecting an immense wall of sound directly into the stands. The tubas anchor the melody with rhythmic, visual horn pumps, driving the crowd into a frenzy. The marching horn players split into two flanking formations, clearing the center 50-yard line. The brass drops their horns to their sides as the percussion section takes complete control of the stadium with a blistering, complex drum solo. The spotlight turns entirely over to the Dancing Dolls. Locked into the driving percussion rhythm, they execute high-tempo choreography characterized by aggressive body accents, sharp splits, and synchronized drops. Surrounding them, the horn players keep the entire field in continuous visual motion, executing intricate, stylized horn flashes and leans on every major drum accent. The drum solo culminates in a massive, unison rimshot. The band rushes back together into a tight, singular point of focus, spelling out a giant, bold "SU" across the 50-yard line. Facing the press box, every musician tilts their instrument upward to maximize sonic projection for the final chorus. The brass players lean back to blast the definitive final chords of the arrangement, delivering a wall of sound that shakes the stadium seats.Holding the final, ringing note to build maximum tension, the band abruptly cuts the sound. The drumline kicks right back into a fast-paced, swinging cadence. The band pivots in perfect unison, executing a high-stepping, high-energy dance routine off the field, keeping the crowd roaring well after they clear the sideline.
