Temptress
Repertoire
With music from Arabesque, this show portrays the story of a man falling in love with a woman, only to find that the woman is actually a deceptive snake creature who forces the man into becoming her mind slave. The Temptress is portrayed by a color guard and soprano saxophone soloist. The guard uniform consists of a black and white snake skin morph suit with a bright yellow gipsy outfit over it. The marching band uniform is a standard red bibbers with a red jacket, black outlines and black shoes with a red shako and black plume.
The first movement is the band's portrayal of the man, strong and independent.
In the second movement, a mellophone soloist plays, before putting down his horn and dancing with the temptress. During this, the temptress takes control, returning to her nest at the end.
The third movement is a fight between the man, desperately trying to keep his humanity and the temptress, who already has him in her grasp. The band puts down their horns and dances while the temptress plays her soprano sax and the front ensemble plays. In the end, she takes him (the band) over and he is a new creature.
The fourth movement is basically the man-turned-snake proclaiming his undying devotion to the Temptress, as she plays her sax. In the end, the original mellophone soloist is stripped of his uniform to reveal a green snake skin morph suit underneath.
