They could lose to Carolina, depends on which UK team shows up and which UNC team shows up. Both are so inconsistent so far. UK won't lose to Belmont in Rupp though.

that's not what i've been hearing i've been hearing that team is fearless and is getting really pumped up and motivated for the UK game motivation is a dangerous weapon and i agree with the inconsistent comment i just googled the win/loss record it's like UK will be the cardinals in this game and UNC is UK lol

Motivation matters, but if Kentucky shows up ready to play against Belmont it will look like the Boise State game - Belmont will hang tough for a while before superior talent and athleticism kick in for Kentucky. They won't be an easy out, but I don't see a loss against Belmont in Rupp.

I have always thought the series lead North Carolina holds over Kentucky is a little odd. Of the other five major men's programs (Kansas, North Carolina, UCLA, Indiana, Duke) North Carolina is the only one with a winning record against Kentucky. That said, Kentucky has the leads over North Carolina that matter to me:

8 Championships for UK against 5 for UNC
2,119 wins for UK against 2,096 for UNC (UNC has played 61 more games apparently)

North Carolina should be glad they have the head to head on us because they are outclassed in every other way. Haha.

For basketball: 11 is the only number I need to hear.
For general athletics: Talk to the 110.

That's certainly one way to look at it.

If consistency matters even a little bit then UCLA lags behind Kentucky, North Carolina, and even Kansas and Duke to an extent. After Wooden's run, UCLA only has one title in thirty-eight years. A much better measure of consistency (wins) leaves UCLA behind schools like Temple and St. John's. So if only championships matter, UCLA comes out on top in basketball (even though they haven't been good at winning championships in a very long time). If anything else matters, Kentucky comes out on top.

Side note, in case anybody was wondering I love numbers and trends. I read about this kind of thing whenever I get free time. So if I get too into these discussions just let me know. Haha.

And the thing I don't like about Coach Cal is this new fixation on getting the best freshman class his upperclassmen are dumb if they don't try to transfer to a different team because they're not getting any play time and one of them took a redshirt! That would make me punch the dude so hard in the nose lol
